Sometimes you don’t know where to start, so here is a list of the top 5 positive changes to make for the New Year:
No more procrastination.
The hard reality is that life doesn’t wait for anyone. Use your time wisely to accomplish your goals, instead of putting it off. Don’t let the thought of all the hard work you have to do deter you, start now.
Make a commitment to do something 2 days out of the week that will get you closer to your goals. You may even get inspired to do more as you get used to it! The only way to accomplish something is to put in the work, no matter how big or small.
Get more sleep.
Staying up late has become a norm; most people getting only 4 – 5 hours of sleep. You can be up until midnight watching your favorite tv series, or trying to finish up work that you weren’t able to finish while on shift.
Adequate rest is essential, it’s what recharges your body for the next day. According to Medical News Today : sleep helps with positive moods, productivity, and more energy.
If you’re tired, then most likely you won’t be in the best mood. You may be irritable and wish you were still in bed. Getting enough rest leaves you feeling refreshed in the morning, ready to take on the day.
More sleep helps with productivity and energy because you are able to get more done though out your day. You aren’t dragging and moving slowly like you would if you didn’t get enough sleep.

More self-care time.
Life gets the best of you, and it’s easy to forget to take a breather sometimes. You have been going non-stop, causing you to feel stressed and overwhelmed. Instead of staying in this unhealthy state of mind, make time for yourself in the new year.
Time to unwind, time to relax, and time to breathe. Whether it is a few hours on the weekend when you have more availability or just 20 minutes before starting your day. Use that time to be present with yourself. To allow yourself to just be.
Meditation is a great way to relax and calm your mind, helping you to be present with yourself. Mindful.org has a great article on how to meditate if you want to check it out.
Walk more.
